The Guild

St Mary's-Greyfriars' Guild would like to welcome you. There is always something going on.

The committee has prepared a full and varied programme for the membership and visitors to enjoy each session. A warm welcome awaits anyone who wishes to come along to any of our meetings. Enquiries are welcome from anyone wishing to know more about the Guild.

The Guild Theme for 2015-18 is "Be Bold, Be Strong!" and there are six projects (agreed at national level) that we will focus on and raise funds for. Find out more about the Guild nationally.

Our Guild celebrated 125 years in November 2011, making us one of the oldest.

The Buzz

The St Mary's-Greyfriars' Buzz group is for those people who want to meet in a social setting. Everyone is welcome, church member or not.

Our members enjoy hearing from a different speaker at every meeting, with some also involving singalongs and short stories. We also share a cuppa with home baking.

Our programme of events also includes a summer outing and Christmas party - and it's always a great atmosphere to spend a couple of hours. Come and see for yourself and give The Buzz a try - you won't be disappointed. As all of those who have been going along have found out, it's a great place to make new friends. The group meets every second Monday from 2-4pm in the church hall.

Fairtrade

We are a Fairtrade church which means that we use Fairtrade tea, coffee and sugar; and biscuits whenever possible.

We display Fairtrade posters and have articles in our magazine; we hold at least one event each year to promote Fairtrade products in our church; and we are members of the Dumfries Fairtrade Group, attending meetings on a regular basis and participating in their joint events.

We are part of the Fairtrade Foundation movement.
