  2. Next Sunday is remembrance Sunday, we meet for our Remembrance Day Service at 11.30am in the church.
  3. An opportunity will be made available to make a donation to 'Poppy Scotland' at the close of the service next Sunday.
  4. Christianity Explored resumed Thursday October 30 at 7.30pm in the church hall; we have four weeks to go so please feel that you can still come along.
  5. There is a service at 2pm today in Charnwood Lodge, please come along if you can.
  6. The 'Buzz' meeting is tomorrow Monday at 2pm in the small hall - Remember Remember! with Isobel Evans. Everyone is welcome.
  7. There will be a meeting of the Business Committee on Monday November 3 at 7.30pm in the Session House.
  8. Guild: Meeting on Tuesday November 4 at 7.30pm, Preshal Trust with May Nicholson. May's story was featured in Life and Work. We are co-hosting with Troqueer Guild who have invited all Guilds in the Presbytery to come along and hear this wonderful lady speaking. All are welcome to come and join us. A buffet supper will be served and donations will be welcome for the Preshal Trust and Guild Charities. Kings Bookshop will be selling books at this meeting.
  9. We are pleased to host the Tearcraft Fair Trade Gift Collection 2008 event in our church halls on Thursday November 6 from 7.30-9pm. Please come along and browse the gifts and order for Christmas. There will be refreshments provided and a DVD to learn more about the work of Tearcraft. See poster and catalogues in the foyer.
  10. Come and see Syd Little live at DG1. Alive Radio has brought Syd Little (Comedian of 'Little & Large') to DG1 for an evening of entertainment and to raise funds for Alive Radio. The event will also include acts from local churches and will take place on Friday 7 Nov. from 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 and can be purchased at Kings, Dalscone Farm Park & DG1. See posters.
  11. If you have not managed to bring your filled shoebox along today - boxes will still be welcomed next Sunday.
  12. Blythswood Collection is next Monday, November 10, at Tesco overflow car park 3pm to 4pm to receive donations. Fliers in the vestibule.

  15. Christian Care for Homeless People presents Dumfries Male Voice Choir in Dumfries Baptist Church on Friday November 28 at 7.30pm Tickets £4, see Anne T.
  16. The Sunday Sweep: 'The People's Project' is a local initiative designed to help clean up our town and countryside whilst we are walking. It involves working together to pick up litter as we go and put it in the bin. There has been a request made to all the churches in the town that as we come and go to church we work together by tidying our streets of litter.
