Christianity Explored continues Thursday November 20 at 7.30pm in the church hall.
As in previous years, the communication and publication committee intend to deliver an invitation card, with details of our church services, to all homes within our parish boundaries. We are in need of volunteers to help us with this task. If you might be able to assist, please leave your name on the clipboard in the vestibule today. For more information, please speak to Tom Evans, Anne Twiname or Marion Bennett.
The 'Buzz' meeting is tomorrow, Monday, at 2pm in the small hall - Tearcraft & Tearfund with Rosemary & Rolf Buwert. Everyone is welcome.
On November 18 the Guild are having a social evening during Guild Week. Entertainment will be The Annan Singers who are regulars at making an evening go with a swing. We welcome visitors to join us. The evening will be co-hosted with Maxwelltown West Guild. All Guilds in the Presbytery have been invited and a buffet supper will be served. Donations welcomed in support of Guild charities. Kings Bookshop will be present, also a Guild sales table. Please bring something to sell.
Our Christmas Bazaar is on Saturday December 6 from 10am to 12 noon in the hall (proceeds in aid of church funds). Tea/coffee and home baking £1.50. Stalls: Cake & candy, crafts, surplus gifts (new), plants, £1, produce, books, DVDs, CDs etc. Your donations to the stalls would be greatly welcomed, also baking for the tables. Assistance for setting up and dismantling the hall please; the hall will be open from 6pm to 7pm on Friday December 5.
St Andrew's Night - Let's celebrate! (see poster) concert in Barbour Hall Glencaple on Friday November 28 at 7.30pm. Tickets £5 from Anne Twiname or at the door in aid of Caerlaverock Church funds.

Guild: Meeting on Tuesday November 4 at 7.30pm, Preshal Trust with May Nicholson. May's story was featured in Life and Work. We are co-hosting with Troqueer Guild who have invited all Guilds in the Presbytery to come along and hear this wonderful lady speaking. All are welcome to come and join us. A buffet supper will be served and donations will be welcome for the Preshal Trust and Guild Charities. Kings Bookshop will be selling books at this meeting.
We are pleased to host the Tearcraft Fair Trade Gift Collection 2008 event in our church halls on Thursday November 6 from 7.30-9pm. Please come along and browse the gifts and order for Christmas. There will be refreshments provided and a DVD to learn more about the work of Tearcraft. See poster and catalogues in the foyer.
Come and see Syd Little live at DG1. Alive Radio has brought Syd Little (Comedian of 'Little & Large') to DG1 for an evening of entertainment and to raise funds for Alive Radio. The event will also include acts from local churches and will take place on Friday 7 Nov. from 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 and can be purchased at Kings, Dalscone Farm Park & DG1. See posters.

Following ordinary worship this morning there will be a pro re nata meeting of the Kirk Session in the church. This meeting is called to discuss an item of correspondence received by the Moderator that requires our exigent attention.
Elders are requested to uplift the six-monthly offering boxes in the vestibule and exchange them, when making their Communion calls, for the ones currently held by members.

The Lord's Supper will be celebrated at the close of ordinary worship on Sunday August 31. The Lord's Table is open to all who love Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
There is a Fairtrade meeting in our small hall on Wednesday August 20 at 7.30pm. There will be a Fairtrade stall.
Items for the September church magazine to be handed in at church by next Sunday August 24 to Marion.
There will be a meeting of the business committee on Tuesday August 26 at 7.30pm in the choir area of the church. If you are unable to attend please ask someone else from your committee to take your place.
